There are three varieties of QTVR files:
1. QTVR Panoramas - These files are points in the plan where you
can stand and spin around 360 degrees looking outward. Your viewpoint
does not change in these files, your feet stay planted in one spot and
you can spin all the way around looking out at the room. QTVR
Panorama files are in the section titled "VR
Walk."
2. QTVR Objects - These files are built on an animated
path, as if you are flying around the buildings. QTVR Object files are in
a section titled "VR Campus" which is a
birds eye view of the auditorium and parts of the campus.
3. Combination Panorama and Object - This file is a combination of the
two above. It starts with a birds eye view of the campus in QTVR Object
format. The combination file can be found in the section titled "Full
Walk." Clicking on the courtyard
outside the auditorium will cause you to "land" on the ground in front of
the entrance doors and be in QTVR Panorama mode. Clicking on the front
door will jump into the lobby. Continue clicking on consecutive links to
end up on the stage. It is also possible to backtrack and walk outside
the auditorium ending up in the courtyard, clicking on the sky will cause
you to "fly" back into the birds eye view. In this mode it is also
possible to click on the stage curtains and cause them to raise and lower
from the seating position view and the stage view.
Resolution of QTVR Files
This site contains duplicate versions of all the QTVR files except
for the "Full Walk" file. The default resolution is "High" with larger
more detailed images. The high resolution images range in size from 600K
to 8.5 mb which would be slow to load on a regular internet dial up
connection. The high resolution files are better suited for presentation
directly from a CD or from the computer hard drive. The lower resolution
files are in a section titled: "Low
Resolution" and range in size from 130K
for the panorama file to 600K for the object files.
Site Navigation
The button links on the left side of the page will jump to random
locations in the presentation or you can use the forward and backward
buttons at the bottom of each page for a sequential presentation.
